another notch on the ol' belt

anyone who knows jj, knows, that he is a 'jack of all trades'.  he is not skilled in one thing in particular but in many things.  this helps us with keeping costs down in our renovation process but also hinders us because he is well sought after.  but today's post is not about his handy work...another day, another time.

jj was asked by his company to obtain his commercial driver's license.  he stressed over it so much.  he had heard horror stories that it could take several attempts.  as much as he was nervous, he was also excited.  he came home nightly telling me something new...things like what goes into changing gears, how you know if they have anti lock brakes and what you have to check before ever even starting the engine.  each time i listened because he had also told me this was an item on his 'list'.  in our household, we encourage one another to fulfill our life long dreams and these items are compiled on our list of things to do before we die (bucket list). 

today!  today, we celebrate jj getting his commercial driver's license...cdl.  i am one proud trucker mama!  what better way to celebrate...then to incorporate bill.  bill has been there for valentine's day and our wedding...why not for this...even more appropriately for this.  so, a few of us gathered at bill's truck stop along interstate 85 and surprised jj with a celebratory dinner.
