With beautiful weather, I think a lot of us like getting out in our yards and planting, mowing, etc. It is nice getting the natural vitamin D. And I love gardening!! I find it very therapeutic.
For years my grandfather...Papaw...repaired lawnmowers. He loved it and he is very good at it. My southern accent may come out in telling this story...well, because it can be hard to tell it otherwise. So, my Papaw came across a lawnmower like he had never seen. It measures 17 inches wide. It is so small. Anyway, it almost looks homemade. A lot of people came through his shop offering to buy it but he refused to sell it. Until that day, I walked in needing a lawn mower. I was looking for something small. Something I could help JJ mow the grass...you know, to be sweet. JJ has a commercial mower...I can't do anything with that thing. So, being the apple of his eye, he sold me the lawn mower for a whopping $25. Now, I want you to know people had offered him several hundreds of dollars for this thing. Well, I was just happy to have it. So we carried it home. Not too long after getting the mower home, I decided to welcome this mower with open arms.
Ya'll know I have ALWAYS wanted an old pink Cadillac...so it was just the natural thing to do...we painted the mower pink. I named her Agatha. She is petite and heavy. She does not play around. We had to take her to the local lawnmower shop...the guys were speechless. I mean, here is this pink lawnmower...first of all and secondly, here is a rare looking mower. Not too long after we acquired Agatha, Papaw decided to part ways with a lawnmower that was similar...not quite as unique as Agatha but he felt like they belonged together. We took him in and named him Percy. Now Percy is still awaiting his fresh paint job and fine tune up.
I have not had Agatha out since being diagnosed and going through treatment for cancer. With all this warm weather, it was time to crank her up. She started right up and purred like...well, a lion. I ((push)) mowed our neighbors front yard. JJ won't let me mow our yard because Agatha cuts the grass too short.
Mowing with Agatha ain't no joke. I have all kinds of cuts from flying objects and I even got a bruise. Oh well, that's the price you pay.
Ladies and Gents...meet Agatha, the pink lawnmower!
Look how well she cuts that grass...
